Boys of Summer: Third Base (2026) is the most personal, raw, and uplifting chapter yet in the award-winning documentary series. As Dan’s Parkinson’s progresses, Robert returns to school at age 49 to pursue a PhD exploring improv and storytelling as interventions to help the PD community explore, discover and share their stories. Facing institutional pushback, academic failure, and mounting family pressure, Robert clings to the lessons he learned from his father: show up, swing big, and lead with love. They return to the Field of Dreams, say goodbye to their beloved Oakland A's, and run the DisneyWorld Marathon together. Blending original music that will have you laughing and singing along, improvisation, and community, Third Base captures the humor, heartbreak, and hope of a father and son racing time and building legacy.
